Today in class we took a test. I got a 93 on it. We started taking notes on Greece. 
Mycenaen- some of the people who setteled on the greek mainland around 2000 B.C.

Trojan war- during the 1200 B.C. the myceanes fought a ten year war agaisnt troy and independenpt city located in anatolia

Dorians- new group of people who moved into the war-torn country side

Homer- greatest storyteller who was blind

Epics- narrative poems celebrating heroic deeds

Myths- traditional stories

Polis- also known as city state

The 95 Theses was posted on Halloween by Martin Luther. Martin Luther believes: 1. people win salvation by faith in God's gift of forgiveness. 2. all church teachings should be clearly based on words of the Bible. 3. all people with faith are equal. people do not need to interpret the Bible for them. When Luther's ideas become popular, Pope Leo X issues a decree threatening Luther with excommunication unless he take's back his statements. Luther throws the decree into a bonfire infant of all his students. So, Pope Leo X excommunicates Luther. Charles V- holy devout Christian leader who wants Luther to recant.
