1. Jesus was Jew born in Nazareth. The apostles are 12 men who were Jesus's closest friends. Paul had enormous influence on Christianity's development. Diaspora is a dispersal of Jews. Constantine was Roman Empire who were fighting three rivals fro land. Bishop was a priest who supervised many churches. Peter traveled from Rome to Jerusalem and became the first bishop there. Pope was the father or head of the Christian Church.

3. Jesus emphasized in his early teachings Gods personal relationship to each human being.

4. The Christians refused to worship Roman Gods, which was seen as an opposition to Roman rule.

5. The Nicene Creed defined the basic beliefs of the Church.

Today we watched a video called "Guns, Germs, and Steel". The main guy in the video was Jared Diamond who is a professor at UCLA, a biologist, an author, and is passionate in the study of birds. He traveled to Papua, New Guinea to learn what it was like to live there. People have lived in Papua for over 40,000 years with a similar life style. Cargo stands for there material goods. Pre-historical times (about 13,000 years ago) everyone was a hunter or gatherer. Sago- staple food that comes from trees. Barley + wheat were main crops.
