1. a.  Renaissance means rebirth. b. Humanism is an intellectual movement that focused on human potential and achievements. c. Secular meant that you were worldly rather than spiritual and concerned with the here and now. d. Patrons had arts by financially supporting artists. e. Perspective was a way of painting that shows three dimensions on a flat surface. 3.  Renaissance men who excelled in many feilds was praised as a universal man. A young man should be charming, witty, well educated, know how to dance, sing, play music, and write poetry. He should also be a skilled rider, wrestler, and swordsman. Renaissance women were expected to know the classics and be charming. They were expected to inspire art but not create it. They were better educated than medival women but had little influence in politics. 4.   It had thriving cities, a wealthy merchant class, and the classical  heritage  of ancient Greece. 5.  They beautified Rome and other cities...

Today in class we took a test and I domino know how I did. I studied but I am not that confident that I did well. I am nervous to see what I got. It was hard and easy at the same time if that makes sense.

1. Greco-Roman culture was the mixing of the elements of Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman culture produced a new culture. Pompeii is where the best paintings are found in Rome. Virgil spent ten years  writing the most famous work of Latin literature. Tacitus was a roman historian who is notable among ancient historians. Aqueducts were designed by Roman engineers to bring water into cities. 5. The Latin started the language called the Romance languages which were the French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Romanian adopting Latin into three languages.

I think the United States is declining. Children are living in poverty. More than usual. Income is not as high. " Majorities of Americans predict that, by 2050, the economy will be  weaker , standards of living will be  lower , health care will be less affordable, the national debt will be  larger  and the condition of the environment will be worse. 1. Inflation is a drastic drop in the value of money coupled with a rise in prices. A mercenary is a foreign soldier who fought for money. Diocletian was a strong-willed army leader. Constantinople was the city of Constantine and with massive walls built around it. Attila was a powerful chieftain. 3.  Some of the main causes were inflation, decline of agriculture economy, growing population, loss of patriotism, economy fall, and the taxes were raised. 4. Diocletian fixed previous problems. He also doubled the size of the Roman army and split the empire in half and ruled the Eastern part. 5. The tribes were fleeing the Huns, who had moved into their land and destroyed everything. When they were trying to run from them, the Germanic people moved through the Roman provinces.

1. Jesus was Jew born in Nazareth. The apostles are 12 men who were Jesus's closest friends. Paul had enormous influence on Christianity's development. Diaspora is a dispersal of Jews. Constantine was Roman Empire who were fighting three rivals fro land. Bishop was a priest who supervised many churches. Peter traveled from Rome to Jerusalem and became the first bishop there. Pope was the father or head of the Christian Church. 3. Jesus emphasized in his early teachings Gods personal relationship to each human being. 4. The Christians refused to worship Roman Gods, which was seen as an opposition to Roman rule. 5. The Nicene Creed defined the basic beliefs of the Church.
